“Seattle Design Ride” is one of our hallmark events: feel the Puget Sound breeze while we explore the city’s history, architecture, and brand-new public projects. We roll out from the U District, cut through Capitol Hill to downtown, then loop back via Queen Anne. We hop off for historic sites, design masterpieces, and—of course—ice cream. On the ride, we’ll talk about the 1960s I-5 freeway that split the city, the 1970s Freeway Park that stitched it back together, and the idea of water-friendly urban design. You’ll learn things and meet people.
