What is GreenShower
「森」是我們的起點,一切療癒與連結都從走進森林開始;
「霖」是一場連續而溫柔的雨,像自然的陪伴,不驟然,不急促;
GreenShower blends two ideas.
Green, the color of living forests and the Emerald City.
Shower, the rain that nourishes the Evergreen State.
Together, they capture our aim: step into nature and find nourishment.

Q: Are there age restrictions for your events?
A: Most of our events do not have strict age limits. However, we will indicate the recommended age group based on the nature of the activity—for example, whether it is family-friendly, suited for quiet reflection, or more physically active. We warmly welcome families and individuals of all ages to experience nature together!
Q: What does GreenShower do?
GreenShower is a nonprofit organization dedicated to nature-based healing and environmental education. Through nature exploration, experiential activities, and community engagement, we aim to help people connect with nature, care for themselves, and care for the environment.
Q: I prefer being indoors / I’m not into camping—can I still join?
A: Absolutely! Not all of our events involve rugged outdoor adventures. We also offer relaxing activities in urban green spaces—such as nature walks, crafting, and mindfulness sessions—that allow you to slow down and reconnect with nature in familiar surroundings.
Q: Do I need to bring equipment to join? Will the activities be exhausting?
A: Each event will include a clear description of its intensity and required items. Many of our programs are easy to join with just water, weather-appropriate clothing, and some snacks. Indoor sessions require minimal preparation, and we’ll provide most of the materials you need. For events involving hiking or outdoor travel, we’ll notify participants in advance and provide info on where to rent or borrow equipment if needed.
Q: Do you charge for your events? How can I sign up?
A: Some events are free; others may have a small fee to cover insurance, materials, or speaker costs. All fees will be clearly listed on the event registration page. Sign-ups are usually through online forms or social media announcements—please follow us on Instagram / Facebook / Threads to stay updated.
Q: Where are your events held? Are they all in Seattle?
A: Most of our events currently take place in Seattle and nearby areas. Depending on the theme, we may also explore parks, community green spaces, or nature reserves further afield. In the future, we hope to expand our reach. If an event requires an overnight stay or longer travel, we’ll do our best to help participants with lodging options.
Q: Are you looking for volunteers? Do I need any training?
A: We absolutely welcome volunteers to join the GreenShower team! You don’t need to be a “nature expert”—no formal background in biology, geography, or history is required. If you’re curious about nature and care about community, you’re already qualified.
We believe that learning by doing is the best way to grow. Most skills are built up through hands-on experiences and shared learning. Our founder and core team will support and guide new volunteers along the way.
By participating in our activities and learning how to live in harmony with nature, volunteers have the opportunity to share its beauty with others and help inspire a deeper appreciation for the land. Nature is where everything begins—and we invite you to be part of this green movement, bringing more people closer to and more caring toward the natural world.

RC ChinWen Lai

Born in Yilan and raised in Pingtung, RC Chin-Wen Lai has had a deep fascination with natural ecosystems since childhood. Biology encyclopedias and books on diverse global environments were his favorites, fueling a dream of one day carrying a camera into the wild to document the pulse of the Earth.
However, his academic path led him first to the laboratory, training as a medical technician. Unwilling to settle for hospital work, he switched to research, spending his days with cells and mice, seeking new discoveries for drug development. Though the path was different, his curiosity about nature never waned.
From the American Midwest to Silicon Valley, Chin-Wen seized every opportunity to study and work abroad, visiting lands he only knew from books. While awestruck by the breathtaking beauty, he was also deeply moved by the rapid changes happening in the natural environment.
A seed for environmental protection was planted during his college days when he encountered the Society of Wilderness (SOW). That dream finally found fertile ground when he moved to Seattle. Combining his passion for nature with the meticulous observation skills honed in the lab, he teamed up with partners Harley Pan and Chun-Lin Chen during a career transition to establish GreenShower.
The goal is simple: to guide more people to step into nature, allowing everyone to genuinely love this land and become its dedicated protectors.

Born and raised in Taiwan, Sophie learned early that streets, markets, and temple courtyards keep traces of the past. Trained as a historian and editor, she combs archives, photographs architectural details before they disappear, and writes stories that connect names on paper to places underfoot. She links past and present so readers can see the continuity of human experience: happiness, anxiety, doubt, and hope. She believes stories bring people closer by revealing the themes we share.
Alongside her writing, she designs digital experiences, building websites and creating brand-aligned assets. She now lives in Seattle with her husband. When not working, she enjoys watching docuseries, traveling, and exploring buildings and neighborhoods.
